This 3D sculpture of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was created to honor the great American civil rights leader. I collected newspaper and magazine photos and used those as a reference for the modeling. They were typically poses of him taken during speeches and public appearances spanning many years of his life. Because the lighting and poses were so varied, it was a challenge to capture an accurate likeness. Each version depicts a different time period in his life.

The Older Man version, shown here, is the clay model before it was sent to the foundry. The piece is currently at the foundry and has been cast in bronze. Once it is mounted on a black granite base it will be available for sale. The bronze would be an ideal way for a community to commemorate this great American leader. Bronze is an appropriate metal for display indoors or outdoors.

The piece is heroic size (1-1/4 life size).
